A Night on the Ice

Jeff taking our picture, he told us to lift up a
foot. As he was taking the picture he started to fall.
Kristy, me and Danny
Last night we double with my friends Kristy and Jeff. Kristy and I have been friends for a couple of years and we always have a fun time hanging out. We decided to go ice skating at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake. Danny and I went there last year on a date and had a blast and we wanted to go this year again. Luckily we had picked this weekend to go because this was that last weekend they were open for the season. I think a lot of people had the same plan because it was pretty crowded, which did make for some good people watching.

Cute picture of Kristy and Jeff!

Me and Danny

I think that one of my hidden talents is ice skating. I am sure I could've been a gold medal athlete in speed skating, but never developed my talent to the full potential it could have been. We had Jeff follow us and take the following action shots for us to review to help improve my form. Maybe I could be ready for 2014.

Look at the amazing foot work. Both feet firmly on the ice.

Still in the upright position, which is a must for gold.

Leaning into the turn.

Amazing

Look at the speed.

And we made it!

I think it is all in the skates. This is what they handed me. The guy at the counter told me that they are the same skate, but different color. (I kind of think they do this on purpose, to keep themselves entertained.) But after I wore them, this will be the next big trend in the ice skating world, so watch for it.

My mismatched skates, someone else must have had the same pair.

After we were done ice skating and analyzing people we decided to walk down to the 2 News window, it was about 10:15 so the 10:00 news was happening. They were doing the weather report and Brian Mullahy was the anchor. He kept turning around to wave at us. He looked like a little fish in a fish bowl.

In front of the 2News window.

Awe....cute.

The news desk.

He turned around for the picture! He looked kind of lonely in there.

My Bridals

I was just looking through some pictures trying to decide what to blog about (there is so much), and decided that I will post some of bridal pictures. We were lucky to have Zac Williams from Williams Visual do our pictures for our engagements, my bridals and the wedding. He did an awesome job and I love every picture he took!!

My bridals were taken at the Ogden Eccles Art Center in downtown Ogden. I would have loved to have done outside, but weather was a big factor. We did my bridals only a week or so before the wedding, so I didn't really have time to get my dress cleaned. Plus, there was the inversion to worry about too. After looking at my pictures, I thought they turned out perfect and so I was glad we ended up doing them where we did!

Here they are...I will try not to overwhelm you with a ton, but just keep it to a few highlights.

We had some in black and white
I love this staircase!

Here you get to see my cute shoes!

We got a few outdoor pictures.

My mom requested the looking in the mirror ones,
I think they turned out pretty.

My two cute helpers!

This is one of my favorites.

There you go. We have a lot more to blog about, so stay tuned!

All Because of Avocados....

One year ago today, January 16th, Danny and I had our first date.

Here's our story...

Imagine if you will, a much simpler time, June 2009. I was running on my sister-in-law Tiff's RAGNAR team, the Valley Babes, when Tiff announced to the team that everyone needs to help in the effort to look for a husband for me. Kelli Booth was on our team (although she was hurt and didn't run) and told me about her "cute cousin". She said that she might have to wait a couple of months to actually set us up, but that she would let me know.

A few months later, in January, I get a phone call from Kelli, who told me that she would like to set me up  with her "cute cousin" now and asked me if I still wanted. I told her that I would love too and needed all the help I can get in this department.

A couple of days later I got a message from Danny while I was at school asking if it was okay for him to call me later that night, I texted him back and told him that worked for me. That night we talked on the phone and arranged a date for that Saturday. I was way excited for our date, on the phone he was easy to talk to and really funny. Plus, Kelli kept telling me how cute he was. (I did try to look him up on Facebook to do a little pre-date stalking and to confirm the cuteness, but could only see his little profile picture, but what I could tell from it was he was indeed cute.)
It was this picture, but smaller.

The night of the date came, the plan was dinner and a movie. When he came to pick me up, my thought was that Kelli was telling the truth, he was cute. We went to the Sonora Grill for dinner. We decided that we wanted the table side guacamole (highly recommended, very delicious!!)! That was one of the highlights of the night. The server that made the guacamole for us, told us all sorts of interesting avocado facts. like California produces 90% of the nations avocado crop and many others. After dinner we went to see the movie Sherlock Holmes. It was a fun date and I loved every minute of it. I was kind of sad when it was over. There were few blind dates I felt that way about.

All Because of Avocados

I wasn't sure if we'd go out again or what would happen in our future. But he called later that week to set up a second date...this time the plan was ice skating (which I picked because I wanted a activity were we would have to hold hands)...which worked, he fell right into my trap. It was another one of our many way fun dates.
Us Ice Skating...at the Gallivan Center
And like they say...the rest is history!!
